Pieces for every meal

High-fired stoneware, food-safe glazes, dishwasher and microwave friendly. Every piece is one of a kind.

Our belief

"A good plate doesn't ask for attention. It holds what matters and makes the ordinary feel considered."

The studio

Slow work, lasting things

Barbosa Ceramics is a small-batch pottery studio that makes stoneware tableware for daily use. Every piece begins on the wheel, is trimmed by hand, bisque-fired, dip-glazed, and fired again at 2,300°F to produce dense, durable, food-safe pottery.

We use locally sourced stoneware clay and mix our own glazes from mineral oxides. There are no decals, no transfers, no mass-production molds. The slight variations in each piece are marks of the process, and we consider them a feature.

Terms of Service

Effective Date: January 1, 2026  |  Last Updated: January 1, 2026

Welcome to Barbosa Ceramics. By accessing this website and purchasing our products, you agree to these Terms of Service.

General Conditions

We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone at any time. All website content — text, images, logos, glaze formulas, and product designs — is the intellectual property of Barbosa Ceramics and is protected under U.S. copyright and intellectual property laws. Reproduction or distribution without written consent is prohibited.

Products and Pricing

Product descriptions and photographs are as accurate as possible. Because every piece is handmade on the potter's wheel, minor variations in size (within 5%), shape, glaze color, and surface texture are inherent to the process and are not considered defects. These variations are part of what makes each piece unique. Prices are in U.S. dollars and subject to change without notice. We reserve the right to limit quantities and discontinue products at any time.

Handmade Product Disclaimer

All Barbosa Ceramics products are handmade from natural stoneware clay and fired at high temperatures. Our glazes are formulated from mineral oxides and are certified food-safe and lead-free. Slight crazing (fine lines in the glaze surface) may develop over time with use; this is a natural characteristic of high-fired stoneware and does not affect food safety or structural integrity. All pieces are dishwasher-safe, microwave-safe, and oven-safe to 400°F.

Orders and Payment

By placing an order, you confirm you are at least 18 years old and that payment information is accurate and authorized. We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and PayPal. All orders are subject to acceptance and availability. Because pieces are handmade and may be in limited supply, we reserve the right to limit quantities. We reserve the right to cancel suspicious or fraudulent orders.

Shipping Policy

Because each piece is handmade, please allow 3–5 business days for production before shipping. Standard domestic shipping takes an additional 5–7 business days. All ceramics are individually wrapped in recycled kraft paper, cushioned with biodegradable packing material, and shipped in double-walled boxes to prevent breakage. Orders over $120 qualify for free standard domestic shipping. We ship to all 50 U.S. states and select international destinations. International orders may be subject to customs duties and import taxes, which are the buyer's responsibility. We are not liable for carrier delays or events beyond our control. Title and risk of loss pass to you upon carrier delivery.

Breakage in Transit

If your order arrives broken or damaged, contact us at noi17122502@gmail.com within 48 hours of delivery with photographs of the damaged item and packaging. We will ship a replacement at no additional charge or issue a full refund at your choice.

Return and Refund Policy

Due to the handmade nature of our products, we do not accept returns for buyer's remorse or minor aesthetic variations inherent to handmade ceramics. However, we stand fully behind our work. If your piece arrives with a functional defect (cracked, chipped, unstable, or with a compromised glaze that affects food safety), contact us within 14 days of delivery. We will replace the item or issue a full refund at our discretion. Refunds are processed within 10 business days and credited to the original payment method. Custom or commissioned pieces are final sale.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Barbosa Ceramics shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the website or products. Total liability for any claim shall not exceed the purchase price of the product in question.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Barbosa Ceramics, Joversina Barbosa da Silva Goncalves, and their officers, employees, and agents from claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your breach of these Terms or misuse of our website or products.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by U.S. federal and applicable state law. Disputes shall first be resolved through good-faith negotiation. Unresolved disputes shall be settled by binding arbitration under the American Arbitration Association.

Modifications

We may update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect when posted. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
